Kukral, BlogKits and AffiliateMarketingFriends
Word has it that BlogKits is being refocused and tweaked, which means that Jim Kukral has a lot of free time to pursue his online marketing consulting business at his own site, www.jimkukral.com.
Jim will still manage BlogKits moving forward, however, he won’t be on the payroll of Forge Corporation, the company behind BlogKits, as of March. I spoke to Jim and he is currently open to speaking to anyone in the industry about consulting or creative projects.
In the meantime, Jim has set up an interesting site called affiliatemarketingfriends.com to capture what he calls some of the good spirit that seems to be prevalent in affiliate marketing these days…
I built Affiliate Marketing Friends because there are some amazing people in this business and I thought it would be a great way to get a bunch of them together to have some fun, and to raise some money for charity at the same time!
Every ounce of money that this website generates will go directly to a charity. I’m not sure which one yet, I’ll update this page when I figure it out.
The site has 625 potential squares for people interested in joining and posting their own avatar. With the proceeds going to charity (not sure which one yet), this seems like a neat idea.
So, while Jim begins the next stage in his career, it is nice of him to build a site emphasizing community with the end result of donations to a charity. Maybe Jim can install a voting or poll mechanism on the site to help determine which charity the money raised will eventually go towards.
Affiliate Marketing, for all of its outsider misconceptions and “image troubles,” is filled with people who give. We saw that at the last Affiliate Summit with affiliatemarketerscare.com (that’s Affiliate Marketers Care, btw, not Affiliate Marketer Scare as I first read the url last year) and the Affiliate Marketing Jam.
Let’s not loose site of these philanthropic ways as our industry continues to grow!
