Delexa.org: Needed Mashup Combining SEO Site Research, Tags and Traffic

Mashups are inherently wonderful things. Every once in a while a mashup is created which transforms the way we perform a process, search, or informational retrieval process. There are numerous Google Maps mashups that fit this category. Sidekiq has had a similar effect on my use and conception of online search as well as it allows for meta searches in a mashed up format.
Delexa.org has the same potential to provide transformation in how site research is done. Although I’m not an advocate (by any means) of Alexa, it is still the accepted standard for spotting traffic trends and getting some information about how a particular website is performing in relation to similar sites. Delexa.org uses the top 50,000 sites as determined by Alexa and del.icio.us tags to organize domain url’s by user specified topics.

Combining Alexa rankings and del.icio.us tags which users have placed on top of a site is ingenious and highly valuable data.
Along with that, the Delexa.org mashup includes the following info about a site (as long as it’s in the top 50,000 of Alexa rankings… ) from various related site info sources. The hyperlinks take you to CostPerNews info…
- Del.icio.us
- Alexa: 3m 6m 1y 5y max
- About URL wiki (AboutUs.org)
- Domain Strength (SEOMoz.org)
- Whois (DomainTools)
- Pagerank (PageRankTool.net) | Future PR (iWebTool.com)
- Link Popularity (Webmaster-Toolkit.com)
- Site Age (Webconfs.com)
The “Top Related Sites” feature is based on del.icio.us tags from users and visitors of your sites and is completely interesting as it shows you user impressions of your site. I did find it odd that the 5th most similarly tagged blog to CostPerNews is Babble.com, which seems to be a parenting web2.0 networking site. Interesting!
So, give it a go and see how users are tagging your site in the context of SEO and traffic tools available in this hyper-cool mashup.
