Commission Junction Advertiser Affiliate Program Contests

If you run an affiliate program, then running affiliate contests can really invigorate your affiliates into promoting your company. Done well, affiliate contests can be tremendous for motivating current producers and also inspiring non-producers to get to work on your program. There are many creative and innovative contest you can run for your affiliates. Affiliate surveys show that the best motivator for affiliate is cash, which makes perfect sense especially in the current ecominic climate. Often times companies only seek to motivate the big super-affiliates and not the smaller affiliates of the program. However, running a contest that motivates all your program’s affiliates to try to win the prizes is a good way to motivate the entire program.

My brother owns a site that features an in-house affiliate program. He has always talked about the direct correlation between how successful the affiliates are and the pay-outs. He also utilizes a monthly affiliate contest and usually gives away something instead of cash (laptop, camera, etc.) He has also commented on how the effectiveness of the contest seems to be tied to the prize. He gave away a Mac Airbook a few months ago as a prize and had some affiliates who hadn't previously make a sale all year, suddenly pop up on the radar.

Why don’t employees get it?I’ve had 100s of employees throughout my career. I’m still shocked at how many people don’t understand why the company is in business and how the employee fits into the equation. So many people confuse the public mission statement, or the fact that the store sells office supplies, with the core principle of capitalism … everyone is, or should be, in business to thrift savings plan make a profit.If I had it to do all over again, before I hired an employee, I would have an orientation session which would cover, among other things, four major points:

Of course that's your prerogative, but it seems to be dimishing the reputation CPN has garnered.

Along with your leaving the Pinnacle Award winner badge up even though the winner was really Sam, not Cost Per News as a site.

You can take that up with Shawn, he's been to the site in the last month or so...it clicks through the Aff Sum registration page, so I'm referring them business. I didn't know one way or the other the nature of the award. Sam was happy it was being sold to someone that will give it a "good home." I have actually gotten really good feedback so far on the posts. I'm still putting up news worthy items and the topics I want to talk about in the industry. This was one of the reasons I purchased the site. Anyways, I will of course listen to your suggestions and keep pre-dominantly industry news and commentary. As you can see I haven't touched any links on the site.
