Affiliate marketing is a powerful and effective tool for anyone to get involved with making money online. The great thing about affiliate marketing is that is an effective way for companies to enter the online market and keep costs down. By utilizing performance based marketing, companies are able to diversify how their message is going out to the internet community and pay only for sales made. With the American economy in the state it is in, this is good news for everyone.
As Evan said in his “How Affiliate Marketing can Save the Economy” post last month:
“Affiliate marketing is still a growing industry that is really seeing more interest due to the current economic crisis. As people look for way to generate additional revenue, they will be turning online… This industry needs to be supported and embraced in order for it to really flourish for more people.”
Agreed. Along with the growth of affiliate marketing in general, the green affiliate marketing vertical is poised to continue its rapid growth as the economy and consumers both become more green. Online affiliate marketing is inherently good for the environment because it cuts out the storefront and all of the related energy needs. In addition, online affiliate marketing focuses on digital advertising and marketing, none of which requires print, ink, shipping or any of the myriad of related energy needs of older mass marketing efforts.
Finally, as consumers become more environmentally conscious, the green and “Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability” (LOHAS) sectors also grow. Green affiliate marketing could be anything from voluntary carbon offsets to eco-friendly clothing lines or sustainable food products. Many consumers are turning online to make their purchases and that can only mean increased lead generation and sales conversions for the green affiliate marketing world. As an already powerful and effective tool, affiliate marketing and green affiliate marketing will both be areas of potential growth as the world economy rebuilds itself with an eye toward green.
