Following up on Shawn Collin’s post about mobile marketing, I came across a service called Bango

Bango makes it easy to drive traffic to a mobile website, understand who the visitors are, track marketing campaigns and collect payment for digital content world-wide.

Bango opens up the mobile web for every brand, business and individual world-wide by eliminating complexity and driving down cost. By operating a common integration point for end users, content providers, billers and search providers, Bango removes the fragmentation that has made the mobile web difficult to exploit.

Interesting idea… we’ll see if it goes anywhere.

Where is Linkshare in all of this talk about mobile marketing??  Their parent company, Rakuten, is a powerhouse in the global mobile economy… why aren’t they pushing ahead?  Is it because American brands and advertisers aren’t sold on mobile yet?
