Now this is something that I didn’t see coming…
Zoho has opened up a Facebook app that is very compelling and interesting in its implications for document sharing with contacts within the Facebook interface.
You can access and edit your documents in Zoho Writer, spreadsheets in Zoho Sheet and presentations in Zoho Show from within your Facebook account. Add that to the ability to manage your calendar with 30boxes’ Facebook app, and your Twitter/Pownce with their respective Facebook apps, and you can start to see how you could spend a great deal of time within Facebook.
Have all your office files - documents, spreadsheets, presentations - online for free. Access them from inside Facebook (also from anywhere). Share/collaborate easily and instantly with your network of friends. No more storing of your office files in your computer & emailing them to your friends to-and-fro.
Hats off to the Zoho team. They are consistently raising the bar and pushing the envelope as to what a web productivity application can or should be (such as their iZoho development for using Zoho on the iPhone). Google Docs & Spreadsheets might have the brand, but Zoho has the community heart and willing to push the cutting edge.
Whether you’re on Facebook or not, do yourself a favor and try out Zoho. You’ll be impressed.
